Overview
Rara Lake is the biggest and deepest fresh water lake in Nepal. The area covered by the lake is about 10.4 sq. km and is situated at an altitude of 5049m. Rara Lake is consider to be pristine region and standing in front of this beautiful lake astonish you in every aspect. The Lake itself is so dazzling that falling in love with it is guaranteed. The nearby tranquil forests, charming trails and surrounding hills add beauty to the lake. The Rara Lake has successfully established itself as a popular tourist destination welcoming many tourist. Rara Lake is situated in the lap of Chayanath Himalayas and Chuche Mare Lek. The changing hues of Lake from turquoise to deep blue and according to the season and sun’s position is majestic.
Rara Lake lies inside Rara National Park which provides habitant to unique floras and fauns that are rare and exclusive. Also around the Lake endangered species of fish, birds, amphibian such as frog are being protected. The forest is full of pine and coniferous trees. The best season to visit Rara Lake is September to October and April to May where there is pleasant summer. The Lake is likely to experience snowfall between December to March. Uphill hike to Murma Top (wooden Observation Tower) awaits a breathtaking panoramic views of hills and foremost beautiful vistas of Rara Lake.
