Kathmandu also known as the city of temple is full of small and large temples which are of great importance. Firstly, there is Swoyambhunath which is a beautiful architect ever seen in top hill. Also known as the "Monkey Temple" among visitors from abroad, Swoyambhunath sits atop its hill, overlooking most parts of the valley. After a short straight ascend you will be rewarded with a wide panorama views. Swoyambhu consisting of two words “swoyam-self” and “bhu- existence” so means ‘self-existence one’. According to translations from an inscription dating back to 460 A.D., it was built by King Manadeva and by the 13th century, Swoyambhunath had developed into an important center of Buddhism. And there is Bouddhanath equivalently famous as Swoyambhunath.
Lumbini located in state no. 5 Rupandehi district is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha (Siddharta Gautam). It is also a scared place for Buddhist pilgrims as well as a famous tourist destination in Nepal. It is also enlisted in World Heritage sites from 1997. It has been a center hub for pilgrims who follow the path or principles of Gautam Buddha. Each year many tourists as well as followers of Buddha come to Lumbini. The most noted temple in premises is the Maya Devi Temple. It stands as a major attraction in Lumbini. There are stupas which are built by other countries. Other attractions include Ashoka Pillar, Myanmar Golden Temple, World Peace Pagoda, Dharma swami Maharaja Buddha Bihar, China temple, Lumbini Museum. Lumbini is filled with the Buddhism spirituality and is of great important place in Nepal.
Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival
Our member will be standby to welcome you in the airport and transfer you to hotel. The hotel is 20 min drive distance from the airport. Get refresh and stay overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing
Wake up early in the morning. We shall visit Swoyambhunath and Boudhanath Stupas. Swoyambhunath is situated hilltop overlooking Kathmandu city. Then our today’s activities is concluded by visit to Boudhanath, also religious significance place. If leisure time, we can visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is representation of our great architecture and cultures craven in woods and stones.
Day 3: Drive or Fly to Lumbini
According to your needs we can a vehicle ride or flight to reach Lumbini. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. We say good bye to valley and head to plain flat lands where the climate is generally hot and humid. It takes about 7-8 hours to reach Lumbini. Lumbini is the most significant place for Buddhist. We shall visit local markets and nearby attraction if possible. Overnight at Lumbini.
Day 4: Sightseeing around Lumbini
After early morning breakfast we shall go on sightseeing around Lumbini. Tilaurakot, Gotihawa are the place we’re visiting. Firstly, visit to Mayadevi temple which is built on the exact place where Siddharta Gautam was born. We take take a glance of its surroundings including the gardens, some of the important landmarks and monuments in Lumbini include: Ashoka's Pillar founded by Emperor Ashoka (249 BC) on the spot of Buddha's birth which also has the oldest inscription in Nepal. We visit most religious, historical and architectural significant place in the world that has been enlisted in the UNESCO world heritage along with many others stupas and monastery.
Day 5: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu
After spiritual time in Lumbini we return back to Kathmandu by bus/jeep. We retrace the same roads back and beautiful landscapes and scenery can be viewed along the road. It takes 7-8 hours to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Final departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast drive by private vehicles to reach Tribhuvan International airport & departure for your onward destination.
